Headmaster Lee

Welcome from Master Kang Young Lee

As the Head Master Instructor at Lee's Tae Kwon Do, may I welcome you to our school.

Part of Tae Kwon Do training involves a development of the mind and heart, as well as a commitment to community. By helping others less fortunate than you and I, we make the world a better place, and ourselves better people in the process.

I am proud of the students and the staff at Lee's Tae Kwon Do. Both of their dedication to self-improvement and their commitment to improving the world around them as represented by their participation in community and charitable events. I wish to thank the students and their families for the support given towards these events, and, more specifically, the volunteers who assist and give of their personal time throughout the year. Teamwork, as encouraged in our training at Lee's Tae Kwon Do, not only makes our community efforts more manageable, but also fosters enjoyment in the effort itself. If we can enjoy doing for others, then maybe we can do it more often.

I would like to think that if every person in the world attained at least a black belt in Tae Kwon Do, then violence and cruelty would have less of a foothold. People are basically good, sometimes needing only to be pointed in the right direction, with that direction being inward.

At this time, I invite everyone, young or old, male or female, healthy or unhealthy to join us in our Tae Kwon Do journey. If you think you can, you will, for nothing is unattainable.

Again, my best wishes to all, and the best ofluck to all of our students in their personal growth throughout the year. All the best from myself, my family and the staff of Lee's Tae Kwon Do.

A Note from Chief Instructor Jim Foran

It has been my privilege and honor to have known and trained with Master Lee over the last 8 years. When I first came into his school those many years back, it was with the intention of only signing up my son, Danny. I had no idea how far that one step would take not only me but my entire family.

You all know Danny, he's the "gym rat" of Lee's Tae Kwon Do, the one who spends more time at the do jang, than he does at home. (In fact, he's probably more comfortable at the do jang.)

My daughter, Katey has been training for nearly 8 years. Of course, you'd probably know her as the "mayor" of the school. When she's there, you know it!

All kidding aside, I cannot imagine what our lives would be like without Tae Kwon Do, and, more specifically, Master Lee. If a better role model exists for our children today, I'm not aware of him or her.

The words to properly thank him do not exist, and I can only hope he knows what's in my heart. (I think he somehow does, although he'll never take the credit.)

I must also thank the other students at Lee's Tae Kwon Do, both adult and child, whose presence and training have also helped and inspired me, and, at times, have given me a renewed sense of purpose.

Every person who has ever trained at this school, has added a little something to the school's legacy and spirit, for this do jang truly belongs to all of us. It's up to us to make it all it can be, and to continue to improve ourselves and our community in the process.

For Danny, Katey, their mother and my wife, Bobbi, and myself, I wish everyone in the Lee's Tae Kwon Do extended family good health and good luck throughout this coming year.
