A Note from Chief Instructor Jim Foran
It has been my privilege and honor to have known and trained with Master Lee over the last 8 years. When I first came into his school those many years back, it was with the intention of only signing up my son, Danny. I had no idea how far that one step would take not only me but my entire family.
You all know Danny, he's the "gym rat" of Lee's Tae Kwon Do, the one who spends more time at the do jang, than he does at home. (In fact, he's probably more comfortable at the do jang.)
My daughter, Katey has been training for nearly 8 years. Of course, you'd probably know her as the "mayor" of the school. When she's there, you know it!
All kidding aside, I cannot imagine what our lives would be like without Tae Kwon Do, and, more specifically, Master Lee. If a better role model exists for our children today, I'm not aware of him or her.
The words to properly thank him do not exist, and I can only hope he knows what's in my heart. (I think he somehow does, although he'll never take the credit.)
I must also thank the other students at Lee's Tae Kwon Do, both adult and child, whose presence and training have also helped and inspired me, and, at times, have given me a renewed sense of purpose.
Every person who has ever trained at this school, has added a little something to the school's legacy and spirit, for this do jang truly belongs to all of us. It's up to us to make it all it can be, and to continue to improve ourselves and our community in the process.
For Danny, Katey, their mother and my wife, Bobbi, and myself, I wish everyone in the Lee's Tae Kwon Do extended family good health and good luck throughout this coming year.
